Ram Varadarajan, President and CEO
Ram Varadarajan co-founded Arcot Systems in 1997. Under his leadership, Arcot has made a significant impact in the security field by providing multifactor and strong authentication solutions that are both easy to use and scalable to millions of consumers and businesses. Ram was instrumental in launching and marketing products that enhance the security of credit card shopping on the Internet with the Verified by Visa, MasterCard SecureCode and JCB J/Secure programs. Arcot's seminal invention, the ArcotID, has made strong authentication accessible to the consumer marketplace by combining a solution that is safe, yet simple for people to use. Ram has grown the company year over year with Arcot solutions now protecting over fifty million users worldwide.

Ram has more than 20 years of experience in leading security and mission critical computing endeavors. Before co-founding Arcot, he held executive positions in R&D at Informix Software where he led innovation and development of security and high end database products. He has the distinction of developing and commercializing the first multi-level secure database system at Informix that was awarded the B1 level certification from the United States Department of Defense. He also headed efforts that enabled Informix to establish a record benchmark for transaction processing (TPC). Ram also led the R&D efforts at ImagineCard, a smartcard initiative between Informix, Gemplus and Hewlett Packard.

Ram has authored several patents and holds an M.S. from Louisiana State University and a B.Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.

Bill Campbell
Bill is currently a Senior Advisor for JPMorgan Chase & Co. Prior to that, Bill was Chairman of Bank One Card Services, which was merged into JPMorgan Chase & Co. From 2005 to 2007 he served as Chairman of Visa International, leading the organization to its IPO in 2008, the largest in U.S. history. With an extensive consumer products and financial services management background, Bill also serves as President of Sanoch Management. Before forming Sanoch Management and joining Bank One, Bill oversaw Citigroup’s Global Consumer Business. He became Chief Executive Officer of Global Citibank in 1996 and Chief Executive Officer of Citigroup’s Global Consumer Business a year later. Bill earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Alberta and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario. He is an avid supporter of the arts and serves as Vice Chairman of the Brooklyn Academy of Music. He is also a member of the executive committee of The Byrd Hoffman Water Mill Foundation as well as a member of the Canadian Advisory Board to the Woodrow Wilson Institute.

Frank Kelcz
Frank is an investment manager specializing in Media-Technology businesses for SEB Venture Capital based in London. Prior to SEB, Frank worked with a number of media-tech start-ups as an active angel investor. He was a business development consultant for Pitango Venture Capital (Israel) and provided services for VNU. He introduced intrusion prevention and encryption companies to leading financial institutions and infrastructure operators. Frank was Vice President Europe for Ziff-Davis; he launched multiple magazines and websites including the renowned PC Magazine, worked for Bertelsmann-G&J (Hamburg & New York) and ACE Electronics Publications (Brussels-Milan-Paris-London). He held executive and management positions for the MIDEM organization and Entertainment Systems International. Frank received a BA in Economics & Anthropology-sociology at Bowdoin College where he also worked as a research fellow.

Chris McKay
Chris joined Granite Ventures in September 1998 from Hambrecht & Quist, where he was an analyst in the firm's Venture Capital department. Chris focuses on software, internet and digital media investments. Chris serves on the board of directors for Arcot Systems, Managing Editor Software and Purisma. He is a Board observer for Actional, Convio, and Sendmail, and was previously involved with the Boards of Connected (acquired by Iron Mountain) and Cardiff (acquired by Verity). Chris holds a BA from the University of Virginia.

Michael R. Miele
Michael joined the Arcot board of directors in 2007. He is co-head of the Private Equity Group at Goldman Sachs & Co. and co-chairman of the investment committee. He is also a portfolio manager focusing on primary, co-investment, and secondary investment opportunities. Michael was a founding member of the Private Equity Group in 1996. Previously, he worked in the Principal Investment Area and corporate finance department of Goldman Sachs Investment Banking Division. Michael first joined Goldman Sachs in 1987 as an analyst, and became a managing director in 1999. He received a B.A. from Swarthmore College and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.

Terry L. Opendyk
Terry founded ONSET Ventures in 1984 and has specialized in working with information and medical technology start-ups for more than 30 years. Prior to launching the firm, Terry was president of VisiCorp, guiding the software publishing company from inception into an industry leader. He serves on the boards of both public and private companies, including Adaptive Planning, Arcot Systems, Callidus Software, Nektar Therapeutics (formerly Inhale Therapeutics), Nextance and Penederm. Terry received a BS from Michigan State University Honors College and an MS from Stanford University. Terry also is a Fellow at the Lester Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Haas School of Business, University of California.

Arthur Patterson
Arthur founder and general partner, Accel Partners, is a Silicon Valley venture capitalist authority who has lead many start-ups through their IPOs, including Actuate, Broadbase, Interwoven, iPass, Portal Software, UUNET/MCI-WorldCom, and Veritas. Prior to Accel, Arthur was general partner of Adler & Company and a fund manager at Citicorp Venture Capital. He is currently on the boards of several private companies, including Aptana, Arcot Systems, Centrify, Coremetrics, Counterpane, Integral Development, Iron Planet, MetroPCS, Noosh, Rapt, and Savi Technology. Arthur received an BA and an MBA from Harvard.

Michael Patterson
Michael is a Partner at Vedanta Capital. From 2001-2006, he was a Principal with INVESCO Private Capital (“IPC”) where he was responsible for the analysis and selection of direct investments in information technology. Michael joined AMVESCAP, IPC's parent company, as a Corporate Associate in 2000. He completed several rotational assignments within their different business units including positions with teams managing the INVESCO Technology Fund and the INVESCO European Small Cap Fund. Michael also held the position of Executive Recruiter with Russell Reynolds, where he focused on the Financial Services industry. Michael holds a BA in Latin American Studies (with honors) from Wesleyan University and an MBA in Finance from Columbia Business School.
