These days nearly everyone carries a mobile phone and uses it to access more and more applications. This makes the mobile phone a natural choice for strong authentication solutions. Arcot offers the ArcotOTP secure passcode generator, a software application that runs on your mobile phone, so there is no need to carry additional authentication devices.
ArcotOTP supports multiple OTP algorithms including those specified by EMV (CAP/DPA) and OATH (HOTP/TOTP). The OTP algorithm can be selected based on the application. All of the OTP methods can be used on the same mobile phone supporting multiple accounts. Just as with traditional disconnected readers or OTP hardware tokens, no wireless or other connectivity is needed. This results in a solution that has a significantly lower cost of ownership with improved user experience that can be used to authenticate multiple cards and online accounts.

- High security – Security is achieved by storing the associated keys in the ArcotOTP key container which resides on the user’s phone. The ArcotOTP keys are protected by Arcot patented cryptographic camouflage key concealment technology, which protects the keys from brute force and dictionary attacks.
- User convenience - ArcotOTP allows users to easily generate an OTP to shop online or gain account access with a device that is already part of their everyday life. When the user makes a web purchase or logs into an online account, the experience is identical to the conventional CAP/DPA and HOTP/TOTP solutions. The user gets out the mobile device, runs the ArcotOTP application, enters the PIN, and generates the one-time-passcode.
- Supports mobile phones, PDAs, Desktops – ArcotOTP runs on all major mobile devices and in JavaScript in a desktop web browser. You can also run ArcotOTP on a PC or Mac computer.
- Multiple cards and accounts available to user – ArcotOTP can store and authenticate multiple cards and accounts at once. Users can easily select the card that they want to use or the web portal they want to access and ArcotOTP will generate the correct passcode for the selected account.

The ArcotOTP solution also works on most Nokia phones, and with most feature phones by Samsung, LG, Motorola and Sony Ericson that are equipped with Java, MIDP 2.0 and CLDC 1.1.
